Rigid face masks have one problem in common: they sit on the high points of a face and leave gaps everywhere else. The Lumia is molded from flexible medical grade silicone, so it drapes and stays in contact along the jaw, the sides of the nose, and under the eyes, which is where the gaps usually are.

Ninety six diodes cover the full face at 630nm red and 850nm near infrared, including a dedicated under eye zone. Sessions run ten minutes and the mask holds itself in place, so it fits into time already spent brushing teeth or waiting for coffee rather than asking for a slot of its own.

The mask comes with eye shields that sit over the eyes while it runs. Keep them in for every session, and do not look directly into the diodes when the mask is off the face.

Should skincare go on first?
